Toshiba Satellite L355-S7812 With Vista 32 Bit OS.
I am trying to get this L355 Satellite to show video on the laptop screen. It will show the Bios and the Toshiba Splash screen ONLY on an external monitor. On the laptop's screen the backlight seems to come on. The screen gets a little lighter and brighter specially at the bottom edge of the LCD.
On the external monitor any display will show up fine.
I have replaced the LCD screen itself with no change in action. I ordered an exact replacement by the numbers on the back of the original LCD.
I have reinstalled the chipset and display drivers with no change. I have uninstalled the display drivers to let the "New Hardware Wizard" find a driver and reinstall with still no change in the onboard LCD display.
I am ready to order a new LCD wiring cable to eliminate one more component. By twisting, moving and manipulating the old harness makes no change or even a flicker in the LCD screen.
I have never seen a laptop that will show to an external display OK and not show to the onboard screen.
Any help is appreciated.
Any ideas will be tested.
Thanks,
Jim K
