Like many others, my Toshiba A75 laptop kept shutting down (after about 5 minutes). I completely dismantled it following the "irisvista" procedure, and cleaned the heat sink (it was plugged). I think I did it right (it all went very well), but, after, it still shuts down, now after about 5 seconds. Any other thoughts other than overheating would be appreciated (maybe I missed plugging in some connector?).

    Thank you,
    Bill Clarke

Can you boot into BIOS? Is so, it is a Windows problem. If not, presumably a hardware problem.

I'm not sure of your level of technical expertise, so don't be offended by the questions, if you took off the heatsink did you remove the old thermal compound and replace it? Did you unplug a fan and forget to plug it back in?
