Basically, I went out tonight and my laptop was fine. When I came back home, I opened my laptop to discover a crack at the top of it. There's a large black stain where the crack is, and there are 4 long purple streaks coming off of the cracks. One of the cracks on the purple streaks is also constantly twitching whenever I type. I'm extremely frustrated by this as I literally have no idea how it's happened. Does anyone have any idea how much this would cost to fix/what the problem is/how it has actually happened? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Harry.

The entire LCD screen is going to have to be replaced. Something had to have impacted the laptop to cause damage like that. Was it dropped? Did something drop onto it? Do you have pets or kids? You're looking at a couple hundred to replace the display (I think).

I can't think of anything specific that could've caused it. Nope no pets or kids which makes it all the more confusing. How much specifically? I looked online and it said it'd be about £50-£70. Thanks for your help.

If you find the part on your own and replace on your own, you can probably repair your screen for around $100, maybe more. If you take it into your local repair shop, I would guess a couple hundred.

    Good luck
