    I would pick NHC (notebook hardware control). It has temperature readings for CPU, GPU, and HD.

    NHC is fine, and be sure to try Everest Home edition. It can additionally read GPU and Ambient GPU temps for my Ati x700! That is a rare thing to see.

    It has other features like it tells you how much your battery is worn out already.
