Now that I have used the M100 for several hours, I noticed on black screens there appears to be light running along the bottom.

I took it to a former Toshiba tech I know and he stated it isn't uncommon and that it isn't that bad. It's not, but now I know it's there, it will stand out every time I see it.

Anyway, I loaded FEAR and it ran smooth with low-med settings. Also, I picked up an analog 2 digital converter for home movie editing. I've narrow it down to Sony Vegas.

    Any thoughts on Vegas?

    Thanks

    Hmm...

Can you take a picture of the light leakage or measure how far the light runs up the screen?

    Yeah,

Here's my attempt at a pic. It was with a black screen saver the light looks blue in the pic.

Don't be alarmed, all most all notebook screens have light leakage though I think yours may be a bit excessive.

Light leakage is not uncommon, most laptops screens have it. In some it is virtually invisible in some it is heck of a lot more than what is leaking from yours.

    Thanks,

I noticed that the taskbar seems a little washed out, compared to other Toshibas. Also, when dark screens come up, it is noticable.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the M100. Hopefully, with some more tweaking, I can extend the bat life a little more. Also, if I can my ext warranty purchase to show up for the M100, that would be nice. The rebate center has no record of it.

Unlikely, most maufacturers do not consider it as a defect. But you can try calling up Toshiba and see what they have to say.

You'd probably have to go through your notebook dealer rather than Toshiba themselves, unless you've bought the notebook from Toshiba directly.
