    Hello,
    I just recently purchased a Toshiba L305D and it has a built-in microphone and webcam. However, I also have a USB Logitech Headset w/micorphone and would liket to use it in crowded areas. When I plug it in, I can hear sound, but the mic won't work. With my old Dell, when I plugged it in, it automatically disabled the speakers and mic. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

    is this vista or xp?

    anyways, in vista (i dont have vista btw);

    go to

    control panel -> hardware and sound.

    look for "Sound" -> under "Sound" look for "playback" and "recording" tabs, under there; should be a settings to change your output(speaker) and input (record/mic). set this to your USB logitech headset.
