    Hey there...
I'm planning to get a 5.1 surround sound speaker from Logitech. The X-540 speakers http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers/devices/234&cl=au,en
The problem is...I have no idea whether it will be able to connect to my laptop properly or not since I heard there are lots of wires to connect ..something like a green..black and red jack? .....and my X305 only has the headphone jack....anyone with the X-540 or X-530 and uses it with a laptop? I will surely appreciate any help..as I was planning to get it early tomorrow..but now I have doubts..I'm not sure.....please help..thank you!!!

I don't know that you'll be able to do this. I have the same speaker set, but did not find a way to hook them up to the 3.5 mm jack. I use them for my desktop which has 7.1 RCA output.

I think I may have found a solution...however...a very costly one...I will need to buy an external sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 sound card) and then hook the system up to the sound card...it's very expensive though...as the sound card cost more than the speakers itself =s
