Looking at picking this laptop up next week. Should I do it?

Amazon seems to have a better description of the product:
Amazon.com: Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7220 17.3-Inch LED Laptop (Grey): Computers & Accessories

Display is good. 1600x900 is pretty good on a sub-$600 laptop.

AMD A-series CPU is comparable to Core-2-Duo chips, but allow better integrated graphics. I think the A-Series is considered slower than a Intel i3 CPU.

Graphics, pretty good for integrated. Not gonna play anything on high, but can probably play many of the latest games on low to medium.

Harddrive is slow (5400rpm, as slow as they come). Means slower bootup times and slower application launches.

Ethernet is only 10/100, but having 10/100/1000 LAN is probably something most people don't take advantage of anyways. If you do need 1000 ethernet, you can get a USB-stick for that.

Battery life rated at 5 hours. Expect half that: 2.5-3 hours.

Has Bluetooth, which means you can buy a Bluetooth mouse and don't need to use the included USB dongle; freeing up a USB port for something else.

Overall, I think it's pretty good for $600. Just keep shopping around and make sure the price is competitive.

I would also recommend upgrading to 2 year On-Site warranty [~$100]. Really useful if your going to use it for school and your laptop needs repair.

    Good luck

The Radeon 6520 is a better card, but still looks like everything is still a low to med game setting
    AMD Radeon HD 6520G - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Quad core will help to the CPU snappiness.

Seem everything else is the same (except color).

It's funny that the quad-core version is the same price as the dual-core version.

    Good luck
