I am searching and reading like crazy to find a Toshiba Laptop around the 6-$800 range if possible. I like the A205 models.
I saw one I liked real well at Wal-Mart which is the A205-S5809 but saw the A205-S5859 on the net which had more on it for the same price. I missed out on that sale for fear of ordering from that certain store.

I like everything about the looks etc. of the S5809 but are the A205's being discontinued and replaced with the A305's now?

On the One I fell in love with at Wal-Mart, I liked the color of the keyboard and the type of screen. What I mean is, NO shiny reflection. It is a dummy on display so I do not know how it is when on.

From what I have been reading, I now am leaning towards a 2 Dual processor and at least 2GB memory.

My question is: Do the A305's come with a shiny screen which is plagued with reflections? And ugh, black keyboard etc.*&^% :(
    Thank you.

Can't say too much about the A305's screen and keyboard, but my screen even though it's glossy, I don't even notice it just because the contrast is so good. So if you see one in store, you can determine whether it's too glossy for you or not.

    Thank you for your reply,

My problem is, I live in a town that only has Radio Shack and Wal-Mart since K-Mart left and what few computer stores there are, are ones who build their own computers.
I don't get out of town to where I could travel at least 75 miles to the Best Buy store, so I'd have to order from the net, sight unseen etc.
That is why I am very happy to find this forum to where it may help me in my decision as to what to buy.

    Thank you.
