When I originally got my laptop it had Vista on, it ran like a dog and was really slow so I put XP Pro on.
I have since upgraded the memory and put in a bigger drive, and would now like to give Vista a go again.
The only problem is, I dont have the CD anymore, and the sticker on the bottom with the key is missing too.
Is there any way of getting replacements rather than having to buy a new copy?

the license/COA (Certificate of Authenticity) sticker is the most important part of having Windows.

If you lost the CD/DVD, it would not matter since you can just order another through Microsoft or your OEM for under $10.

If you lost the license, then you are out of luck and will need to get another license.... which is what you are really paying for when buying most software nowadays.

Not neccissarily, there is a chance that the key is hard coded and automatically inputted by the computer. I know on my Toshiba Qosmio F55 and Gateway M-6864FX I wiped out the installed Vista on both laptops and installed Windows 7 on them. Then I used the Restore Disks for each of the laptops and it restored the original Vista on both laptops. It never prompted me for the Windows Key, it automatically inputted it. I cannot gaurantee it will be the same for yours, but you can call Toshiba Customer Support and tell them that you lost your Recovery Disks and they may send some to you for FREE, or you may have to pay a small shipping charge. Worth a try. I hope this helps. Let us know. Happy Easter and God Bless !!! :)

You could try this website: http://restorecd4u.com/ They might have a restore disk set for your laptop. They cost about $20.00 and all of the sets I've bought have worked good.

True, but you would first have to already have that system installed, yes? :p Quoting in his first post, he DOWNGRADED to Windows Xp, which would imply that he no longer has Vista installed. Lol. So what good would Magical Jelly Beans do him? :D

Anyway, to be helpful, just as posted earlier, go to Toshiba's web site and look for your laptop model. From there, re-order your recovery discs and then you should be set. When these companies pre-install the operating systems on your laptop, generally they are OEM and do not require an individual CD key. Happy shipping!
