I have a Toshiba L755 and up until last week, the refresh rate was 60 Hz, and the resolution was 13xx. Can't remember exactly what it was, but now, the highest resolution I can select is 1280, and I have a black band on the right side of the monitor. Additionally, the refresh rate is now set to 58 Hz and I can't change it. I've tried downloading toshiba drivers and even reinstalling the factory windows 7-64 OS. Still the bar. I'm thinking there's a problem with my laptop, but Toshiba wants $250 to look at it. Could it be the monitor or the internal graphics card. I can get a used motherboard for $75, but if it's the monitor, I'm not going to replace that. Anyone had this problem before?
