I have the latest drivers downloaded from the Toshiba website, but had the same problem with previous drivers. I am on Win 8.1

At max volume the speakers are not very loud, does the portege just have weak speakers? My 11.6" $300 old laptop has a much higher loudness. For example if I am outside on campus with normal ambient noise of people a few cars and I am on a skype conversation, I easily get drowned and have to wear headphones. Sometimes even when I watch a movie at home I have to wear headphones because the speakers seem very weak. It happens also with youtube videos

Is it a software or hardware issue?
