Hello. I just got the Toshiba M100-JG2 laptop and I need it so I can edit my movie using Adobe Premiere Pro. However, everytime Premiere finishes loading the computer crashes. It shows me the blue screen of death. I don't know what to do! Can anyone please help me? :(

Nobody seems to have a solution to this. Just an update, I went back to BestBuy and exchanged my M100 with an M70 which only has a centrino and not a duo core. Premiere works fine.

I also tried installing Premiere on another Toshiba Core Duo laptop, but I also got the same blue screen. The salesperson thinks it might be a problem with the Core Duo chips, but I'm somewhat dubious of this speculation. If someone could try installing Premiere Pro on another Core Duo notebook besides a Toshiba brand, maybe this problem can be limited to only Toshiba Core Duo notebooks. Then, someone can call up Toshiba and ask if they have a solution.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-LE1, and it also blue screens when i run Premiere Pro 2.0. It's running a Celeron M 1.7GHz. Is that dual-core or is the M just for 'mobile'? Oh well. We're going to exchange it hopefully for one that works.

hey amckimm. i thought this is a problem on core duos only. i guess intel or toshiba has a real problem with this. however, i doubt toshiba is to blame because i'm using an m70 centrino notebook to do my premiere pro 2.0 editing and it has worked great. i'm assuming that only the newer toshiba notebooks have this problem.

we need more people with premiere pro 2.0 to really check this problem out. :)

SUCCESS! The problem has been with the Realtek audio driver, as mentioned in this thread.

I uninstalled the old driver and aquired the newest driver from Realtek

PPro 2.0 now works just fine, though a bit slow of course compared to my desktop computer. Now I just have to figure out why my PCMCIA 1394 (Firewire) adapter crashes the computer whenever I plug in my camera.

Wow. Thanks amckimm. This stupid problem's solution is all due to an audio driver  . Who would have thought? The Toshiba M70 works fine with Premiere. You would think Toshiba would see this problem. Anyway, great job. I'll keep this in mind when I get a Toshiba notebook in September.
