I have m30YSJ. The default volume is incredibly low when I use the CD or DVD express media player option with the computer turned off. Other than the volume control dial on the front of the laptop (which I have set at maximum) Is there a way to increase the volume (the volume meter is only at 50%)

Is there any way to make the changes to the software in Windows before shutting down? Some settings might be controlled by the software and then stick with whatever it was last set to while the unit is off. Since your volume meter is only at 50%, you may have to jump up the volume in Windows before shutting down.

It may not be in the Windows settings, but the Toshiba software that gets installed. All Toshiba's have preloaded software, so you may want to see if any one will apply to the express media player. If all else fails, contact Toshiba, if there's a way, they'll know.
