    M30-YSJ Myster of the FIR Port !

    I am presently using the M30-YSJ and am very puzzled about the FIR port. Is there an FIR port on this laptop or not. Has anyone ever used it successfully ? The Users Manual and the Specifications as the website do not indicate the Infared Port. On the other hand every other place I have looked for information on this Laptop it indicates the exsistence of an IR port next to the external volume control. Could some one please solve this mystery for me.

    That's really hard to say. Toshiba seemed to have installed them in some of their units and not in others. It's possible this unit doesn't have an IR port, just the "placeholder" where it would go on the units that do have the IR port installed. If you have installed the IR drivers and no luck, it's most likely not available.

    Thanks for your response VB. Its really strange that Toshiba would selctive include the Infared port. I actually haven't installed any IR drivers so maybe that cld be it. Any clues on where I could find the drivers ?
    If any one with the M30-YSJ SE does have a FIR port I would like to know.

    Hi, I have my m30=-ysj ince this summer, and i have tried a lot of thing, and it do not have the fir. :(

    recently I received a new m30-001, and again, no FIR (but on toshiba website) the FIR port is mentionned, so i have called toshiba and i'm suppose to get news on monday...
