I can't figure out how to get any of this to remove. I tried the CDs that came with it...took some off, not everything. Do I have to go search out a retail version of Windows and reinstall fresh like that?

I bought 3 Toshibas this summer...U405D, and two P305Ds. It basically took very little time removing the bloatware, ie Quickbooks, Memeo, etc. by going through the Uninstall Menu. Also, I followed the path for some of the other bloatware (ie Netzero) to the Toshiba file in the C: drive, titled "Links," I believe. Deleted everything.

Deleted Norton...yukkk...That thing has so many tentacles in your system but uninstall seems to do an OK job of getting rid of everything.

Then, I went back and installed the stuff I do want...ie...Spywareblaster, ESET Security Suite, Spybot, SAS, etc.

On previous machines, I installed Spacemonger to see where files of bloatware were lurking. I haven't done that yet with these Toshibas because it seems I did a pretty good job of getting everything.

Not to worry. It really doesn't take long to do it the way I described. :)

Have you tried the PC Decrapifier? That helps out a bit by searching for all the crapware then it runs the uninstallers for you. You can select what you want to keep as well.

Love that! Thank you. Even though I have done a good job of getting rid of crapware, this is a good utility to have.
