I was wondering if someone has attempted to upgrade their m35 to Windows XP Pro by using a Windows XP Pro upgrade disc. I tried but the disc can't be read properly by the m35 dvd drive and it will take up to 3 minutes for the windows disc menu to show. I tried to run installation and I encountered several installation errors. After installing, my wireless settings would not work properly. The " Find all available wireless connections would be grayed out". I had to restore the HD to its original state with the Toshiba restore disc. The funny thing is that the XP Pro Update disc will start immediately in my other laptop computers (IBM Thinkpad and Toshina A15). I don't know what to do. Other than that, the DVD drive seems to work o.k. (I tried other CDs/DVDs). I really want to have windows XP Pro installed in this computer. I don't know if I should try buying another copy of the software and try another disc. But if it doesn't work, I will have wasted $200 since software, once opened, cannot be returned. I can't understand why the disc will start right away in other computers, but in the m35. Also, I ran a diagnostics test called burnin and it found several errors reading the disc files but when I used the same software in my IBM, no errors were found. Can someone make sense of all this?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Jordi

I need your help. Would someone please help me? Should I buy another XP pro upgrade or the whole XP pro disk and not use the Toshiba restore disk? How do I install teh drivers then? What drivers would I need?
Thank you.

You could try copying the upgrade and running it from a local partition. I'm not 100% sure that would work, but it may be worth a try.
As for installing Pro, you will need to re-install drivers and utilities. They should all be on the disks that came with your machine.
