I have had this laptop for almost two years, and up until recently I have had no problems with it. About a month ago I noticed I had to jiggle the power cord when it was plugged into the laptop for it to get a connection. It has been steadily going downhill ever since. Last week I had to have the cord just right for any power to get to the device. Then today no matter how I have it, power is not getting to the laptop. The one year warranty has passed, and I'm afraid if I send it in or have someone attempt to repair it, it might cost just about as much as a new laptop. I saw the guides stickied in this forum on how to disasemble it, but is that something I should attempt? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You could go to your local electronics repair shop and see how much it would cost to do such a job - if it's too much, you might as well try yourself. However, I don't think it should be too costly if its just the power converter. But if the Motherboard is blown, then its a different story (will cost big bucks to replace a MOBO) - then you'll have to get a new notebook.
