    Hi,
Thinking about upgrading mine which is a Celeron M 330 to a Pentium M one. The CPU on ebay is getting cheaper so I'd like to have a little more punch with more battery life.

After searches, I found this on the another forum

    http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=54102&highlight=CPU+upgrade

Has anyone tried it? I successfully open the keyboard can't locate or see how to access the CPU :( .

I believe the CPU is located on the underside of the systemboard for the M30's. From the specs I've seen, it looks like it's on the undeside, but I'm not 100% sure (not really detailed). If it is the case, you're gonna have to take apart your entire unit before you can get to the CPU. Unless there's a door on the underside that comes off to allow access to the CPU. They do this on the Satellite P series notebooks. I wouldn't recommend you do this yourself. If you don't know what you're doing, you can really mess up your unit to the point it won't power on anymore.
