Has anyone had their M40 start to crash fairly often because of some error to do with nv4_disp.dll? I googled a bit and it seems to occur when someone adds new hardware and doesn't have the updated drivers, but that doesn't seem to be applicable in my case as it's been fine so far...but now it's been crashing a lot. I'm thinking of just doing a complete reinstall, but i'm worried it's a hardware issue
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I got that, but only when I installed those "Omega Drivers"
What you need to do, is start Windows in its "Last Known Good Configuration" mode and re-install the toshiba drivers which can be found at C:\TOSHIBA\DISPLAY\nVIDIA\Setup.exe
That will restore the original toshiba drivers.
If that does not work, enter Safe Mode and attempt the same installation. -
hey, thanks for your reply. Tried what you said but no luck...drivers seemed to reinstall fine but I still periodically get the error. Here's what else it says:
"The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly."
Any more suggestions anyone? Thanks! -
Are you still using the original OS provided by Toshiba or did you reload the OS manually (clean install)?
It's possible there's a conflict somewhere with the nvidia drivers and something else. Try reloading the OS from scratch or from the Toshiba discs.
This will of course wipe all your data, so make sure you backup everything you need before reloading.

I agree with Venombite - If you've installed any Nvidia Drivers, or other "tweaking" drivers, I'd try to uninstall them first and reload the original ones. If that doesn't work, perform a clean install as Venombite has stated.
