Okay, heres my problem. I purchased this M45-S265 from a guy because ot had a fan problem. The fan would not come on and it would shut down after a couple minutes. I purchased a new fan and heat sink. I installed it all, which wasn't to bad, and I used Artic Silver 5. Then I started it up and the fan was working like a champ. Then I start reinstalling windows. Everything works fine untill I get to "Installing devices" at 34 mins left. The computer reboots and starts a looping cycle.

So I finally wipe the drive again, and format it to FAT 32 with windows 2000. It makes it to the sign on screen then reboots. My first thought was hardware, so I pull out the wireless card and modem card. I start it up and it starts working fine. It started running like there was nothing wrong. So I decided to put Windows XP on it, and it's a retail version disc. I don't have the Toshiba Discs. Windows XP home installs fine and the computer started working great. I did all the updates and added DVD burner software.

I then installed the Wireless card back into the system. I didn't have the wireless switched on. The computer was still working just fine, and I installed all the toshiba drivers. Then I turned on the wireless card (Intel card) and boom, the dang the rebooted. It was back in the loop. I couldn't use it but for a couple minutes and it would reboot. I managed to get on the internet with it, but only for a couple minutes before it would reboot. Now error messeges, just reboots.

I then thought, well lets just take it back out because it must be bad and the computer should be fine. Nope, it still reboots. I then decided to wipe windows and do another fresh install. Now while trying to install Windows XP Home it reboots at the "Installing Devices" with no error messege. I have the wireless card and the modem card out, and it just wont stop rebooting. I got so far, and now it's just messing up.

Is this a DMI problem? The device manager showed no signs of hardware conflicts or problems. Then fan works fine and it doesn't overheat. I could go into Safe Mode with no problems.

I'm clueless and need some helpful hints.

    Thank you!

Hah, I put the modem and wireless card back in and now it let me install windows. Now it's working fine again with no rebooting. Now I'm scared to turn the wireless on. I have no idea what the problem is.

Do you guys think the wireless card has a short?
