Hello all, I am hoping that maybe someoe can help me with this. I have a Toshiba M45-S165. When I turn power on the toshiba splash screen comes on the screen and then freezes, The blue information bar at the bottom goes about 70% anf then stops. You can press the F2 button and it says entering setup and says please wait but it does not go any further. Press F8 or F12 does nothing either. If you hit the esc button it goes to a black self test screen that list the the specs. Everything says passed. It does say System bios- Shadowed and Video Bios - shadowed. Dont know what that means, I tried to restore with disc but is still wont get past the spash screen, I tried moving the ram to another slot. I tried with or without the battery. I also tried reseating the cpu but nothing makes a differance. My daughter was using the laptop last night while we were out and she said thats when this started happening, She said it went into hibernation mode and when she hit the power button the screen froze at the splash screen. I was going to try resetting the cmos but I dont know if this laptop has a cmos battery. Can anyone help or is it ready for the scrap yard. Thanks in advance.
