Hi, I am planning to buy a notebook and I can get the the listed notbooks at the same price. Normally, it would be hands down to SR6 due to more RAM and better CPU. However, future shop website listed SR6 with 128mb X700 and FE5 with 256mbX700, which made me think twice about going with SR6. What do you guys think? Is there a typo on SR6 graphics specs as some people suggested? Are those dedicated or shared graphics?

    Thanks

The FE5 with 256MB of RAM on the X700 is Hypermemory. That is it is really only has 128MB of RAM dedicated and it will take away from the RAM the other 128MB if it needs it. I have an M60 with the X600 which has the Hypermemory, and didn't know all about this when I purchased it. If you want to take a look at this thread they talk about the X700 card.

The X600SE card is limited so it can't even fully use the 128MB of RAM and so it is pointless to have the 256 MB. The X700 is also a 128 MB card and I would go with that because I wouldn't want it to take away from the system RAM. That and the performance won't be much better with the 256. The X700 is a much better card than the X600, so I would go with the 128MB card especially because it is cheaper and has more RAM. Just check to make sure that the X700 card doesn't use Hypermemory.
