Hi I am purchasing a new Toshiba laptop, I have looked at both of these the M71 is cheaper by $200.00 I like everything about the M71 except the sound seems to be very quiet even after adjusting the volume. Is is worth the extra money to buy the Qosimo? I need to have a lighter laptop as I travel quite a bit which is also why I was leaning towards the M71 but I am concerned about the sound. Any suggestions????

If you're a super audiophile, then get the Qosmio - best sound system in the notebook market. However, the M70's sound shouldn't be too bad, even with the generic speakers. The M70 seems to fit your need better, as it's lighter and more portable. Rember - nobody buys a notebook for its speakers. Get a nice pair of headphones with the saved money and you should be set to go.

hi thanks for the reply, after looking at the cost difference I bought the M70 as it did fit my needs more. I needed a lighter laptop, longer battery. Thanks again

Nice choice! However, I'd check the DVD burning system (if you've got one) - some people on the site have been having problems reading burned CDs. Keep us posted on your notebook!

hi I haven't had a chance to burn any cd's or dvd's on here yet but I will give it a try and let you know. So far it seems to be a good laptop runs very quiet and it is very light which is what I needed.
