First question, is windows vista that came installed on my laptop on a partition? If so, how do I check? I may have it on a disc, but its been 3 years and i wanted to check and see who has done this and how easy it is to do.
My windows just does not update anymore. I probably have way too much software that i do not need, so figure why not start new.
I want to streamline the computer and really take care of it. Any online guides on the best way to wipe the drive and start again, or is it just a format c:*.* type thing?

I don't know how to check if windows is on a partition.
For wiping and starting over, do you have recovery dics? If not you can order them from Toshiba (for your model) for probably $20 to $30. -
ok..i checked my laptop bag and I do indeed have 2 recovery disks from Toshiba. They have drivers and Vista Home Premium. So I am good to go there.
So tonight I will just pull out the external and grab all my backup files.
May make it a weekend project and try and take it apart and clean it also.
Anything I am missing or need to know? I have an A205 series.
May be time to wipe my Satellite and start new..help
