Toshiba Satellite M35XS161
Intel Celeron M 1.3GHz
60GB hard drive
512MB RAM
DVD/CD-RW drive
15.4" widescreen display
I have just picked up this model at COMPUSA. Windows says that it has 480MB of memory, while the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 reads 64MB. I am no math wizard, but if 480MB is what Windows has, then why does the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Adapter say it has 64MB, as it is obvious that it must only be using 32MB.
My Questions are:
1. Is this a hardware issue?
2. If not, then how can I truly see how much memory is being shared by the graphics chip? And how do I change it?

Hi Mike,
Check how much memory your system has by right clicking the "my computer" icon on the desktop and selecting "properties" that will show the total memory. The spec for your M35XS161 at Toshiba's website shows this having the Intel Extreme graphics 2 with 16-64 MB of memory; the amount from 16-64MB is selectable by the user. It sounds like it is set for 32MB. I'm not sure how this is changed, but if you use google or ask in the toshiba forum they may know.
