Kingston Value Rams are PC2-4200 DDR2 Memory (533MHz), while the memory module shown on the specs page of my Portege M500 is PC2-4300 DDR2 Memory (533MHz).
I upgraded myself to the PC2-4200 DDR2 Memory (533MHz).
Will there be a problem in the long run?
Everything is running fine now.
Thank you.

PC2-4200 vs PC2-4300 means the same thing. The manufacture advertising PC2-4300 is just trying to claim their ram can be overclocked by 1% as a marketing scam.

Ooo thank you very much. Cheers.

They label RAM according to speed; 533MHz * 8= 4264. Some people round up, others round down.

vespoli's answer is correct. The same can be said for PC2-5300 and PC2-5400 memory. To get the "PC" number you multiply the frequency by 8, so 667 * 8 = 5336. Like vespoli said, some manufacturers round up, and some down.

Thank you for the explanation. Really appreciate it.
