    Modem problem?

    plz help me..
    i don't know what's the problem of my laptop's modem...
    i got this problem from the first time i buy this laptop (Satellite M40)
    when i try to connect to internet... the tone sounds like... beep..beep..beep
    and the message inform that no dialtone...
    then i tested using external modem...and line goes correctly...
    so my conclusion : the internal modem of my laptop is not good... then i took it to the toshiba service center... but :confused: weird... the modem works good on them................
    so i bring it back home and test it on my phone line... but.. :( it still have same problem as first...

    anybody can help me?

    Hmm... Seems like a settings issue if the modem worked at the service center and not at your home. I had a similar issue but that was ages ago and dont really remember much about it. I would suggest looking under modem settings and see if something needs to be changed. You could just doa google search your problem and see what turns up. Sometumes it might be really helpful.

    Yeah, check your internet settings and make sure that you have the lastest version of the modem drivers, but if it worked at the service center, then is has to be a setting somewhere.
