In my A-100; the monitor has stopped working properly. When starting the computer, the Toshiba trademark comes and then disappears; when the windows is running, only a dark shadow can be seen (hardly).

I had XP on my laptop, I installed Windows 7 (via an external monitor); but the problem still persists :(

If an external monitor is working ok it is probably the inverter board that is gone and will have to be replaced.

You mean that it is a hardware problem?

YES!! As the jabbok advised, the problem may be the inverter or backlight. It is better for you to replace the inverter first and to see if your laptop works well or not. Then try to replace the backlight....

    GOOD LUCK!!
