    Hi,
what is the proper name for the black clip that hold the mouse pad ribbon cable in place on a toshiba satellite A505-S6965? And where can I get one? Seems mine has mysteriously disappeared off my desk.

    Ellalan,
the whole clip has gone walkabout somewhere.
It's tiny less than ab 1/2" and more of a wedge to keep the ribbon cable in place. Will have to find some solution to make my mouse pad work.
    Thanks though.

    Hi BCP,
I'm afraid you won't be able to buy that clip separately, why don't you try the solution at the bottom of the second link? just use a piece of electrical tape to make the cable a bit thicker and insert, cut the tape to match the width of the cable and stick to the correct side, stick the tape where there are no visible connections. Good luck.
