Just Wanna say hi to all Toshiba Owners :)

I just bought Toshiba M100 last weekend, I haven't had time to play around with my notebook, just did the basic settings :p

I'm happy with my new notebook, seems sturdy and reliable. I hope it can last for a long time

One thing i'm not very sure with my notebook, does it have media express? how to check?

    This is my notebook specs:

    • Core duo 1.66 Ghz
    • 1024mb RAM
    • 80gb HDD
    • Intel GMA 950

you can check your notebook's manual to see whether your notebook comes with media express. Or around the keyboard you should be able to find out several buttons for media express.

I've had my M100 for several months and I am happy with it, but I don't really use it that often. I think the plastic around the hinge behind the screen could be a lot more sturdy.

Is there something wrong with your hinge plastics?

I called the reseller and the same lame response "It hasnt arrive". I ask them for the reason they said they do not know and tell me to wait!!

This is really testing my patience!

Hello. I'd just like to know how is your M100 doing? I'm think of getting one and I just need to know its durability and whether I should even consider getting Best Buy's Protection Plan?

    Thanks. :D

Hi. My M-100 is doing great, i'm very happy with it. It's pretty durable and sturdy. I don't have any problem until now, and i dont want any problem :D . I think it's always better tou buy protection plan even for very tough notebook, as long as the price is reasonable. :)

I don't think anything is wrong, it's just the way they built it. The plastic is flexy and doesn't feel very solid. It's solid everywhere else, though.

View attachment Image004.jpg Hello - I was interested to read about the fragile plastic on your M100. I'll try to attach a picture of the hinge at the back of my M30, which broke this morning. Just underneath the cable, bottom left of picture, is a mysterious bit of broken plastic, which is preventing me from pushing the hinge back into place.

I've had the M30 for just under 2 years. Any repairs will involve sending it away for a couple of weeks. I'm a student doctor 2 weeks away from some big exams, with all my work stored on here (although most is backed up to DVDs) and would rather this hadn't happened right now!
    i. Do you think it can be repaired anyway?
ii. Should I just soldier on for the next 2 weeks trying not to sever the cable?
iii. Should I bite the bullet and replace it with an M100?
I thought these things were supposed to be sturdy...
