Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite p105-s9722. It was working fine today, no problems. I'm sitting with it on a table, not plugged in, running off the battery. I was browsing a couple of sites, had irc open, basic stuff. I close the lid, picked it up, and take to my desk. I'm then surprised to see that it is off, even though it had been charging all last night. I figure it must've not been plugged in and it didn't get a full charge. I plug it in, only to notice that none of the indicator lights are on. I think it's odd and I check the power adapter. It's all ok. I plug at a different outlet just see if maybe it's the outlet. Still no dice. So, I take the battery out and plug it. Voila blue light indicating it's plugged in comes on. So I hit the power button. Both the plugged in light and the power light flicker and then turn off. The computer will not turn on.
Tried putting the battery in after it was plugged in. All three indicator lights flicker and it turns off.
What is wrong with my laptop? Is it the power supply or the motherboard?
And how do I fix it?
Thanks.

Ouch. Sounds like your power supply just went out, basically you might need a new motherboard. I may be wrong though. If you still have warranty this would be a good time to do so. Can the laptop run on battery power only? (if the battery isnt dead already?)

I was worried about that...
The laptop will not run on battery power. I'm hoping it's something minor like a cable somewhere being disconnected and not actually something being fried.
Thanks for your insight. -
I was also afraid of it being that. Before my ac adaptor went out for my P105 it would do similar behavior, except the laptop would actually run on battery. The plug indicator would turn on and off constantly and sometimes, when it wanted to, the plug would "turn on". I prayed it wasnt an internal hardware issue. Finally I called up toshiba, they sent me a new plug free of charge, and it turned out to be that. If it wont run on battery then it's not the plug, it's an internal problem.
A possibility is that your battery is completely dead and that may be why it wont power on with your battery, then it might be an AC issue, but, like you said, your battery had charge in it still.
My Satellite p105-s9722 won't turn on...
