I have a Toshiba Portege M800 and recently had it reformatted and had Vista Ultimate installed on it. I had previously been running on Vista Home Premium. It's less than a month old, so no chance for dust to accumulate ust yet. Prior to the reformatting, I had no issues with the fan... so I wonder if it has something to do with Vista Ultimate being too taxing on my processor?? I've also got a few more programs installed on them, but the fan is on even when those programs are not running. Before it would only turn on occasionally and now it is on near constantly. I'm always on Power Saving mode as well. Here are its full specs as per the best buy website:

I installed Speedfan and Everest, and the stated temperatures of the CPU is 35 degrees Celsius, and the hard disk drive (I think?) is 37 degrees Celsius. Surely this is hardly hot enough for the fan to be on near constantly.

What can I do to turn the fan off?

    Thanks!
