I had put a new hard drive in my x205 sli1 after the previous one became physically damaged (i know 205's normally have 2 hard drives but mine only had one when i bought it) a few months ago and put Windows XP and the neccessary drivers from Toshiba's UK site

And recently the touchpad has started acting up REALLY BAD

Im currently using a borrowed USB mouse but i want to use my touchpad again.

I tried uninstalling the syntapics (hope i spelled that right) driver and reinstalling it and that did not work.

i tried adjusting the sensitivity and still it works erractically.

If i restart the computer it will work fine for about half an hour then start acting up again. and finally stop working ALTOGETHER

I have no idea what could be wrong but i would really like to fix it if possible. i would be willing to take the computer apart if need be

Have you tried a different version of the synaptic driver?

I'm using this driver in my Acer laptop. I'm running WinXP too. You should try it.
