I reformatted and installed Windows to my Toshiba L10 because of occasional Windows "wear-out" and a possible malware infection. It was very problematic, I finished at last but now my USB ports and sound device is gone. I can live without USB but I need sound. I see a yellow excalamation in my device manager next to the sound device. (weird, no warnings at USB devices...) I tried to reinstall sound drivers from Toshiba CD but somehow it couldn't find the files in the CD. A "sound control cannot load" or similar message displays at startup. My power conector is also gone, but I'll try to fix it with some welding since I learned it was common with Toshibas.
Any ideas over sound? I'm afraid I cannot afford a new laptop now.

Go to the manufacturers website and look for the drivers for your model in the download section

Yah what Alex said, or if by any chance you got the drivers on a disc then go for that too. :D
