    Well it seems some how my harddrive recovery partition has gotten corrupted (sad panda) and toshiba told me either take it to them for 2 weeks, try to return it or fork out 25 bucks for their cd to restore it.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    Other than that this is a great machine (FYI linux battery life is not as good as xps with this machine)

    Well, you probably messed up the partition structure when installing Linux. :)

    I made a backup image of mine as soon as I got it out of the box before the first load so I could avoid the above scenario.

    It isn't the easiest way to get the image back, but I did post a copy of it up at mediashare. You can download the 126 zip files here:

    You will need symantec / norton ghost to read that .GHO image. It was created with version 11.5..

    Hope that helps you out! This way a simple restore is only an external HD and a USB flash drive away.
