I have a customer with a M45-S355 that is out of warranty. When he holds down the shift key for a couple of seconds the system starts acting wierd. If he is trying to log in or unlock the screen-saver then it will stop responding to key strokes after ~30 seconds. At first it will just enter some character and hit return every time he presses the left shift key. When he presses the right shift key it enters several different characters depending on what was last typed. Also the CAP lock key works in reverse.

I have already replaced the keyboard and I have also booted from a XP Preinstallation disk (XP on a CD) and verified that the problem exists in the hardware and not the OS.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

Also, does anyone know where I can get a replacement motherboard for this M45?

    Thanx, David.
