I have had my 5205 for several years. It still runs pretty fast and has a great screen for photo editing. It is starting to have some issues and I would like some advice.

First, the left hinge broke. I think I can replace the part (I have taken several laptops apart before), but the screen has that pink fade in when it starts up I.E. when the screen is cold, white colors appear pink. The pink will turn the right shade of white after about 10 seconds. Is this a sign of bigger problems? I heard this may lead to the backlight malfunctioning.

I would also like to upgrade to bluetooth an a faster wireless network card (mine is only 811.b). Does anyone know the part numbers for the bluetooth and wi-fi cards?

While the thing is open I would also like to put a faster processor in. Th current CPU is a P4M 2.0 GHz. Is there anything faster that would work?

I also have never been able to get the DVD writer to work even after replacing the optical drive. It writes CD fine and reads DVDs ok, but it never has recignised DVD-R or DVD+R media. Any ideas?

I don't really have the money for a new laptop, but I don't want to pour money into this one if it will die soon anyway.
