I 'm installing a new hard drive. The old one crashed, and I need the recovery cd. It came with XP Media Center. Does anyone one know where I can get one? I call Toshiba and the can't/won't sell me one.

    Thanks
    Tom

Actually, if your system has allready crashed you can't... Well, what you can do is to find an XP CD and install your OS manually and then download the drivers. For this you need atleast two computers. For feature information let me know...

The restore cd image image was never in the old hard drive. It was a separate cd given with the laptop at the time. It has been misplaced, 'm trying to find one

Ah, now I got it. I thought it was like you had to create one. But, if it is like this, Toshiba must give/sell you new one...

From the information we are getting over at the Toshiba Laptop Forums it seems that Toshiba has run out of a lot of the recovery disks for the older systems, especially the XP systems from 2006 and older. It's quite possible that they simply do not have them any longer as that model dates back to 2004/5. You can enter in your serial number in this page to see if it is available or not. https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/serviceUnitVerification.jsp?orderType=SFF
