I manged to find another forum that suggested downloading the drivers from nvidia. then attempt the install so it will extract the files. Then you can manuaully load the drivers from the nv4_disp.inf file and choose the Geforece 8600 GM or whatever the same model is but 8600 since 8700 isn't listed (sorry don't have laptop with me atm) I tried getting the modded inf yesterday as well.

yeah, not sure what's up with Laptopvideo2go, that's the best place to get this stuff.... Have you tried just modifing a Toshiba inf to work with them? Not sure if Toshiba even has any video drivers for XP they've released, but theoretically you could just modify that .*inf to the current version of the Nvidia driver you are trying to install along with the proper date... that's what I do to get the HD DVD software to play with the updated drivers, don't even use the laptopvideo2 *.inf version.... but, that's assuming you have a working XP *.inf to start with.... don't know the differences between the Vista and XP versions... I'd shoot you mine, it's set up for the NVidia 169.09's, but under Vista, so don't think that would work.

it's the nv_disp.inf, basicly they're just adding the mobile chips as supported as well, if you open it up and look at it it's a huge list of cards that are supported. That will then install the newest drivers, but you'll still have problems running the HD DVD player software, so that's why I acutally have started using the old Toshiba nvco.inf file, and then just updating the versions and date in that, as mentioned in this thread:

I take no credit for this, I just saw it and tried it and it works great

i actually have the S7483 so no HD-DVD to worry about. I'll look over this tread anyway just in case.

ok cool, that'd be the only reason to bother doing it that way, it just basicly tricks the HD DVD sotware into thinking you are using the approved drivers... it's all copyright junk to keep us from doing something we're not i suppose ha

Did find this a few minuted ago for anybody that might need them... it's a zip that has all the Laptopvideo2go inf files in it, and looks legit... i downloaded it and glanced at a couple and they look real

I have 169.01, along with the correct inf, for XP if you can use that one.
