Hi, I've visited Toshiba's store today, and got price suggestions for the following 2 models. The prices are in Israeli NIS and in US dollars. I've been looking for a long time for the right laptop and after deciding not to buy the LG S1 (dark screen and very expensive) I've ended up with the final two:
1. Toshiba Satellite A100-192
Core Duo processor T2500 2.0 GHz: 667 MHz 2MB
Win home edition
15.4" TruBrite WXGA 1280x800
100 GB 5400 rpm
1024 (512+512) MB
DVD supermulti drive
ATI Radeon x1600
Bluetooth
Wireless
Harman kardon speakers
6 cell battery
2 years warrenty
Case
For 7800 nis---->approximately 1790$
2. Toshiba Satellite P100-264
All the same but:
Core duo processor T2600 2.17 GHz
Windows Media Center
17" WXGA+ 1440x900
NVIDIA GeForce 7600
No case
For 9900 nis----> approximately 2270$
The P100 looks so fine! But it's quite expensive.
I don't know whether the media center and the 2.17 GHz worth the extra money, but the poor resolution on the A100 does disturb me. I'm a student (so when I buy a computer I intend it to last for a good number of years) and a big games and movies lover, and I'm afraid the low resolution on the A100 will have its effect in those fields.
Another thing that bothers me is something I read here about the blue light coming from the speakers in the P100. I'm sure it's neat at first, but doesn't it annoy you when you watch a movie?
Can you please help me decide? Any A100/ P100 owners for the rescue?![]()

You can get much better deals if u look elsewhere such as Asus or Acer or Dell. For under around ~1500 u can get an asus z96j with the same specs and even a high res screen for example

Don't like Acer nor Dell that much. Asus, well I know nothing about it's service here and Asus is very (very!) expensive here.
Need your help to decide
