I did a clean installation of Windows XP on my Satellite A105-s101 and lost the functionality of the Express Media Player. I learned I would need a recovery CD for this feature. I wonder if any of you could share the file or some thing. Any opinion is also welcome.

    Thank you in advance

You're probably missing the driver. Either go to Toshiba's website and try updating it or do a software update with the Toshia utility.

Actually you were supposed to make the cd yourself when youe bought the laptop. On the desktop there was an icon for express media recovery cd.

Yes - however, updating the drivers through the internet may help the situation better than a restore (the internet has updated material, whereas the recovery discs do no). However, it is highly recommended to make recovery discs in case of a system crash. If you've already deleted your "Express Media Recovery CD", you can restore your notebook to the point in time where it still existed and make a recovery disc from there.

The Express Media Player is not just a driver and it cannot be downloaded from Toshiba. The System Restore function will not work if you have already wiped-out the HDD.

Tom, someone in another thread posted the .iso file of the Express Media Player. Download it and burn it on a CD.
