My new A105-S4211 is very nice so far, except for 2 annoyances -

    1) The DVD drive sometimes makes a buzzing rattling noise when a disc is spinning very fast - I think the door is vibrating. If I push on the door, I can stop it - but it's pretty loud! I took it to the shop and the only thing they can do is replace the drive, but not sure if that will solve the problem. Does anyone else have the same issue?

    2) When I tried out the memory card slot, I was surprised that it almost swallowed up my SD card. The only way to remove it is with your fingernail, tugging on the little ridge on the top edge. Is this the standard for notebook memory card slots, or just Toshiba's?

    Any comments are appreciated.

    Thanks.

    2) Did you try pushing on the card then releasing? Those slots are usually spring loaded and will pop the card out if you push the card in a few mms.

As for your DVD drive, have you tried using Toshiba's DVD drive Acoustic Silencer?

Re the memory card - yes! It has spring action. Thanks a lot.
