Hey. I'm sure you guys have heard of the new line of Qosmios being released (if you havent then you have now :D). In particular, the Qosmio F55 looks VERY interesting with 9700m GTS graphics.

I will be going to the US in two weeks time and only for a week. Ordering online might be a bit risky so i'll probably want to buy it at a physical shop. Which brand of stores stock the most Toshibas from your guys' experience?

And does anyone know for sure when the F55 will be released? The X305 goes on sale on the 14th of July.

I know about the worldwide warranty. One of the big reasons I'm getting a Toshiba.

Where do most of you guys buy your Qosmios/upper end Toshibas from if any of you have them?

The X305 was delayed, think that might affect the others causing them to be delayed as well?

I seriously hope not. But the product page still says mid-July for the F50 (not 55??). It's the same website as the X305 page

I think the one in the US is the F55. All the news websites are saying F55. It's only the Toshiba website itself saying F50 so idk...

And you should be able to get it off toshiba direct. However, they currently don't seem to have any qosmios on it so I wouldn't bet too much on it.

I don't get why toshiba doesn't let the user customize the laptop themselves, there are pretty big differences between the 2 stock f55 models to choose from

pre-ordering is no good. I need to get it by this wkend. Anyone kno any physical shops that hav it?

And tbh, the only significant dif between the models is that one has a much better processor.

    Toshiba warranty IS world wide

Does any one know the weight of the F55? the toshiba site says it is over 8 lbs but amazon.com and j&r both say it is around 6.5 lbs and the more expensive model is 8 lbs. I hope amazon is right ><

I hope this model will have more variants that today
It's ridiculous that Q502 doesn't have bluetooth!? Qosmio isn't a budget notebook, so it should have bluetooth at least...

    Q502 needs better CPU! :(
nV 9700M GTS is quite good and that's big plus :)

And what about Garmin Mobile® PC? Is that just an installed software or fully functional integrated GPS device (and what chip does it use)?

I'm also interested if I could add one more hard drive to Q502, cause Q5023 have already two, and basically the chassis is the same :)

CUSTOMIZE OPTION would be great!!! :D

All in all, I think this one is going to be really great buy ;)

I wish I knew the answer! I had planned on buying the F55 ever since I became informed about it, but with no info on the release date I went with an HP. I can't afford to head off to college without my own computer, just wish Toshiba would have released a date so I know I made the right decision.

Toshiba has completely dropped the ball with the Qosmio laptops. I'm very disappointed. The release date was schedule for July 14th. There's no excuse as to why they aren't completely available for purchase at the moment.

In Canada Toshiba says it should be available mid August, I imagine the U.S will get it sooner. I just hope there's time to get it before school starts up again...
Has anyone seen any reviews of it? It seems in general people tend to be pretty skeptical of Toshiba, and I notice that despite it's seemingly awesome specs it doesn't get mentioned much in the "What Notebook Should I Buy" forum.

I noticed the same thing, I guess we'll just have to wait for some reviews to come out. I'm pretty new to the laptop world, how soon are we likely to see reviews?

no, why? I have Toshiba Qosmio G35 and Acer Aspire 5920G and people are tending to be MORE skeptical of Acer/MSI...than of Toshiba/Dell... :)
This model is pretty good by its specifications...Desperately wanting some review, but even without review I'm really sure I'll buy it :)

1399 for the 55-502. I think there was a 503 as well for around 1600.

BB sales person was puzzled as well when he couldn't find it on their website

It was from a local BB. Just call up the one's near you and see if they have it in stock.
3dmark score in the 7200s with stock drivers and default settings. That's a bit lower then I had expected but I guess it's still pretty good for a "fifteen" inch machine at this price range.

Its a bit bulky and definately not 6 pounds Heavier than any 15" i've used but surprisingly after a few hours of gaming, there doesn't appear to be much heat around the surfaces. My last laptop had an igp and it ran nowhere as cool as this toshiba

Sorry i don't know too much about the configuration of the cpu. I certainly don't want to be one of the first to open this thing up

Just got home from our BEST BUY (Texas) and they do have F55, the $1399 config.
I didn't see the $1749 config and I didn't ask for it since I didn't have the budget for that. I tried looking for it in Circuit City but there wasn't any.

I was actually thinking of buying the HP dv5t but then they downgraded the graphics card and
the F55's lookin' waaay better so I'm planning to buy it on Friday, payday.
    Can't wait!!!

HP actually put the 9600GT back on the website, so you can now get it.

I really wanted to get the F55 but couldn't afford to wait any longer, so I settled with HP. Also, I looked at my local BB and couldn't find any of the new Toshiba's, really wanted to take a look at them!

Well, my local bestbuy had this in stock, but they don't have it on display due to not having any available laptop locks free atm. I was really interested in it, but I need to be able to see the physical size of it etc. One thing I wish we knew was how easy it would be to upgrade the processor in the future. If it is as easy or almost as easy as the gateway 6831/6860's, then that would lean me towards this laptop even more.
