    New Satellite Processors

    I have been waiting seemingly ages for the new Satellite A500s to be released. I was a bit surprised to find out that the i7 processor is only available in a pre-built model (which unfortunately does not fit my needs). I called Toshiba nearly everyday last week to find out if the i7 will be available in a customizable model only to be told, "I don't know. We are the last to find out and sometimes the consumers find out before us," or "Oh yes, I talked to the product manager and he said they are just trying to iron out some details but it should be added at the earliest today but definitely tomorrow." My first call was a week ago and still no customizable i7. Has anyone heard if this processor will be available in a customizable model?

    The configurable P505 has i7 as an option :)

    Very interesting that it's available for that model only. Thanks, Ikkru for the reply but I neglected to mention that I am only interested in the 16 inch A500. :)

    I know i'm from Australia but, I work at a computer retail store. There are no A500 models here in Australia that have the core i7 processor. Have a look at the new qosmio f60. Its also a 16" unit but its thinner and packs the core i7. Also made by toshiba. Its not too much more expensive than the top A500 model here

    Unfortunately the ones available in the US (at least on Toshibadirect.com) are of the 18.4" variety. Good idea though! I'll just wait a bit longer and then start looking for something else. Thanks!!
