    Hi all,

I feel so what disapointed that my Toshiba A300 that come with a core 2 duo 2.5ghz with a 800FSB has just been surplanted with a new model that's got a 1066FSB....sad(my laptop's about a mouth old).

I guess it's just a matter of a short time...a core 2 duo with a 2.8ghz processor will maybe be available with that new A305-S6864?

    Man that's fast!

    ...well I guess that's that

URL for the new model is http://explore.toshiba.com/laptops/satellite/A300/A305-S6864

    ...plus real DDR2-800 support!

    darn,if I only knew...I could have waited....

My toshiba A-300 ST4004 has got only DDR2-667 support, but according to Crucial it's compatible with their DDR2-800(4GB kit)

here's the url for other owner's of A-300-ST4004 models

...yup,know what u mean...guess their just trying to sell more by saying it's compatible...and then if u use their live chat to try to confirm that(if your laptop recognize it as DDR2-800)they'll tell u that your laptop's bios and stuff will see it as DDR2-800 and not as DDR2-667...darn I should have just wait another month before I bought my unit...and I would have had real DDR2-800 support with that new processor they've got for that new toshiba satellite A305-S6864...darn it

    cgr,

Do you mind that the S6864 is 64 Bit?

That is what kept me from buying it when missing out on ordering the S6845 from them. Now I am waiting for one to take it's place. (want a 32 Bit)

    Hey there Urlee,

....sure I don't mind that it's 64bit, I actually prefer 64bit so that the processor's true nature could be fully utilized by the operating system, well that's theoretically...the problem is most apps are designed for 32bit(windows)operating systems....but the upside to this is you would not need to upgrade to a 64bit platform(when more 64bit apps come out, just a matter of time)...further more i think the 64bit(windows)platforms has a backward compatibility feature?(I suppose)....I but i heard from a couple of friends that some apps(games) have a bit of trouble running on a 64bit windows platform(i think they said compatibility problems of some kind....not really sure)

    hope that helped a bit....
