I think they took it down. Toshiba probably yelled at them
Good find though. You going to pick one up? -
£ 1 699.99 = 2 782.20 US Dollars
hmm ?!! -

yes i am guessing 1k dollars cheaper LOL
I am hoping the Qosmio stays in the 1200-1900 ball park.
With 2782 dollars i might as well buy a 17 inch notebook with the yet to be released 580m, maybe in Sli. -
well alex, yes i was keeping an eye on new toshiba with intel sandy bridge processor from quite a while. i was in same situation as u, bought x500 with older generation intel processor and i was quite happy with it as well but the machine was kept on freezing. returned it back and waited for new andy bridge but we all remember that historic recall by intel and rest is the history. u know i really liked the idea of 18 inch and qosmio 500 had ideal design and build i have seen in any of the laptop. right now my options are toshiba x700 and alienware m18 both with more or less same price and specs. reason why i may not go for alienware is i hate to buy anything from online source so i guess i may go for toshiba which is another good machine though with 17 inch screen. i have been keeping an eye on one of em since start of this year and i really do need a machine till end of june/start of july so i guess i may go for toshiba.

everything is expensive in uk, thanx to 20% tax and some invisible charges for what so ever reason. annoying but cant help.

i can see they have taken it off website. it was a 3d model with 500 gb of hard drive. i am really hoping it for ssd as well as 500 gb on its own doesnt sound too impressive. rest of the specs were what we were expecting like intel sandy bridge, 560 gtx, one usb 3.0 and 3 usb 2.0 etc

Some of the specs are upgrades to lower end Qosmios, but the higher-end models can meet or beat some of the specs of the x770. Like I've said, my SB Qosmio q8102X is pretty much a large x770 [w GTX 460m].
x770 comes with a Hybrid SSD/HDD drive. My Qosmio only has 7200rpm HDD; whereas the q898 had a SDD drive + a second HDD drive.
Has USB 3.0, none of the previous Qosmios had this [however they have eSATA].
3D screen. I think this is the biggest change for the Qosmios. IMO, they went to the 17" form factor due to the lack of 18.4" 3D screens on the market. I wish they would have kept the 18.4" screen though.
I think overall it is still quite impressive. I LOVE the aluminum chassis and wish my x505 came with the same.
Anyways, if you decide to buy it, let us know what you think of it.
