I bought a Tecra M8 a few weeks ago but it arrived while I was out of town on business/vacation. I've been using it for 4 days now without a single BSOD. I got it configured with windows xp professional, which probably explains the lack of BSOD. While there is some bloatware, its not as bad as I expected nor as bad as the T61 that I ordered previously with Vista. I think the computers with Vista come with the most bloatware! The keyboard has a little flex in it and the keys are a little noisy, but I think that the rest really makes up for it. The display is bright and beautiful (haven't seen any white dots!). The palm rests don't get too warm and the battery life is decent. The only time this thing gets stuck is when I use Office Outlook, but I've had that problem on other machines as well. So far I am pleased with my purchase. Much more so than the T61 I bought and sent back immediately.

Another thing I don't like is the volume control button. It's not sensitive enough, it doesn't adjust volume incrimentally, but in stages/steps (if that makes sense). Maybe a future driver update will correct that.

I've been using it as my primary computer for more than a week now and it runs smoothly.

I would think so - the specs on the unit are just fantastic :p

with the exception of the hoppity-hop keyboard on my satellite u300 (it's sister model) that sproings up and down like cheap plastic food plates :p

I mean, come on - would it have killed them to use a little more plastic instead of what seems like a plastic 'film' to hold the keys? Sheesh..
