Is it posssible to upgrade the components on these new Toshiba ? Such as upgrade memory, upgrade xp to media center? Or does Toshiba use proprietary software and hardware components that wouldn't allow user to put anything in? I just never owned a Toshiba before. I was going to actually spill out 3500 yesterday to buy the xps dell, but I came across this new Toshiba. How would it compare to XPS m1710? It seems to me that they share comparable specs? Or is xps m1710 still better? Maybe because of all this hype that was created with m1710, I'm still bit more inclined towards dell even though this new Toshiba is a very comparable model with 79000gtx.

Lastly how is the warranty through Toshiba? Are they reliable and prompt to service? If i buy this I will purchase the 3 year extended accidental plan. thanks

I am throughly suprised, but pleased with Toshiba's move to add a 7900GTX into their P105 notebooks. I can safetly say that the P105 offers equal performance and a better price than its Dell XPS counterpart, except if you want some fancy lights :D

Standard memory, I got mine from CDW when I got the laptop after pricing it out a bit. I would think you could go Media Center? not sure why not.

The memory is definitely upgradable. It is accessible from the bottom of the laptop. I wouldn't see why you couldn't install Windows Media Center. I was able to on a Compaq X1000.

    FYI it's a P100. :D

Anyone from the UK here? When will we have this configuration? The P100 in UK is still equipped with 7600. Phew.

Looks great! I also live in Europe (Sweden actually), and I can't find the new P100 models on any of the European websites, and Toshiba USA won't ship outside the US...
Anybody who knows where you can get your fingers on the new P100s in Europe?

Try Amazon.com. I lived in Eskilstuna in 1986 when I was a kid. Listen, I've got this "dog tag" with my name imprinted on it, date of birth... I still carry it around (-;. What was the purpose for it? sorry for going a tad off-topic.
