    Hi.

I had the laptop for 16 days and return policy is 14 day so I'm kinda screwed.

When we play flash applets, we always get "Nvidia driver has stopped working and have recovered" problem. I have read online and it seems that Toshiba doesn't have any fix for this. I have installed the newest drivers, still same problem.

Anyone have any idea what I could do?

    Nevermind.

It seems that Nvidia 310M video card is not yet compatible with win7 and they need to update the drivers.

What I find stupid is how can you sell a freaking notebook win win7 that has the 310M card. This just pisses me off so much!

Are you sure that Toshiba not have relased a driver for your card on their side? They do that sometimes, like sound driver for my x300...

Looked on their website and they have none. Though i will call them when I get back from work. Tons of people buying toshiba laptops recently are having this problem.

try getting a mod'd driver from Laptopvideo2Go.com. You'll be happier that way. Nvidia drivers always have issues. Not 1 driver is perfect for everything from them. When you find one that performs well for some things, you'll find it bites in others.

There have been issues with some Nvidia drivers and Flash recently, try downloading the newest driver for yours from Nvidia and see if they have come out with a fix yet.

i had the same problem from time to time when i used generic drivers from nvidia website, so i downgraded to the old driver on toshiba driver page, it solved the problem. so, i think you need to wait for toshiba to release a driver.

It seems a known issue from Toshiba. After calling back for like 5 days, I finally got a senior tech to call me and he told me that it was a known issue (hopefully since I told him that on their website, they had tons of people with that problem and they never even answered) and that their engineers were going to make a new driver. They made me try both drivers on their web site and on Nvidia with the correct bios version and it was still a no go.

This is really bugging me. I usually do a lot of research before buying something that's pricy and that last long and I didn't catch this at all. This was my first laptop and will probably be the last laptop I buy because of this experience.

The only thing bugging me in this is that they often asked me what version of Bios I had, which was 1.60, and if you go on their toshiba website for drivers for the A500, the latest bios version is 1.50.

Well it started doing it again with the new flash update. Installed the new drivers after that and it still doing the same error even with the basic windows theme.

    Never Nvidia again.

Sorry to hear that. But, how did you get the 1.60 bios?
Is it possible to rollrock the bios to 1.50 ?
